Hello, fellow travelers and food connoisseurs!
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I love cheese! From the nutty Swiss to the sharp Cheddar, the crumbly Feta to the creamy Brie, and even the vegan options! There’s a world of cheese out there, and I’m on a mission to taste it all.
Picture this: a cheeseburger with the perfect melt, a pizza topped with gooey mozzarella, and a comforting bowl of tomato soup paired with a crispy grilled cheese sandwich. And let’s not forget the vegan options: pizza with vegan mozzarella, pasta with vegan parmesan, lasagna with plant-based ricotta, and so much more!
From sandwiches to salads, pasta to nachos, there is no dish cheese can’t make better. Whether it’s a classic cheese and crackers combo, a gourmet vegan cheese board, or a hearty mac ‘n’ cheese made with vegan cheese blocks, the possibilities are endless!
So, join me on this cheesy adventure as we explore the world one cheese at a time. The list goes on, and so does our journey. Bon appétit! 🧀🍔🍕🥪
Let’s Go On a Scavenger Hunt for Cheese
Cheese isn’t just about the destination; it’s a journey of flavors.
Our adventure begins in California, with some amazing artisanal cheeses from the Marin French Cheese Company. Next, we cross the bay to the Berkeley Cheeseboard Collective. This cheese shop and bakery offers a wide variety of cheeses, delicious pizza, and live jazz music, making it a must-visit for food and music lovers alike. 🍕🎷
Of course, we must visit Wisconsin, the land of the cheese heads. Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland, with over 1,000,000 cows. That’s one cow for every five Wisconsin residents! Ninety percent of Wisconsin milk is made into cheese. Places like Mulberry Lane Farm in Sherwood allow visitors a hands-on dairy farm experience by taking a turn milking and learning fun cow facts! Bring a picnic and enjoy a day of animal petting, hayrides, and making memories. 🐄
Our journey continues eastward, where we sample the distinct styles of pizzas in New York, Chicago, and Detroit. Each city offers its unique spin on this beloved cheesy dish, from New York’s thin-crust slices, and Detroit’s iconic square pizza, to Chicago’s deep-dish delights. 🍕
Next stop, Texas! When in Texas, don’t miss out on the Tex-Mex pimento cheese! 🤠🧀
Our next stop is the Pit in Raleigh, North Carolina, where we feast on some of the best mac and cheese in the country.
Heading north to New England, let’s try a unique twist: Mac and cheese lobster. 🦞🧀
Our next stop is the French Riviera, or Côte d’Azur, home to some of the world’s best cheeses. From the creamy Brie de Meaux to the pungent Roquefort, each cheese tells a story of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Pair these cheeses with a crusty baguette, and have a simple yet satisfying meal. 🧀🥖
Finally, home where Oregon cheeses are recognized as some of the best in the world. 🏆
So, stay cheesy, my friends! Our cheesy adventure is just getting started! 🧀
I used to say, "I couldn't live without cheese!" And then I became lactose intolerant. Karma!
My pix of Marin cheese company??
