Celebrating Women Who Shape Our Lives: Past, Present, and Future ❤️🌹🌈
Honoring the women who inspire my life journey and shape our world.
Hello wonderful women, and all supporters, advocates, and allies,
March is Women’s History Month—a special time when I honor and celebrate the incredible women who have shaped my life journey, community, and the world.
Today, I invite you to join me on a journey to celebrate women.
#WomensHistoryMonth
Remembering Women Who Led the Way
I respect, honor, and appreciate many women in U.S. history who have dared to stand up, break barriers, and change the world.
Throughout history, women have nurtured, led, and innovated, often without recognition. From the suffragettes who secured the right to vote, to the scientists, writers, and activists who pushed boundaries, to the many women in our own lives who uplift and inspire me daily.
Susan B. Anthony: Fought for women’s suffrage and faced immense opposition, yet never wavered in her belief that women deserved the right to vote.
Harriet Tubman: Led numerous freedom journeys on the Underground Railroad, risking her life to help others escape slavery.
Clara Barton: Founded the American Red Cross and dedicated her life to helping others.
Helen Keller: Triumphed over adversity to become an influential author, political activist, and lecturer, despite being deaf and blind.
Rosa Parks: Her defiance on a Montgomery bus ignited a movement that changed the course of history, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott and advancing the Civil Rights Movement.
Maya Angelou: As a poet, author, and civil rights activist, her powerful words inspire us to strive for a more just and equitable society.
Here are some ways you can join me in celebrating and supporting women:
Explore Women’s History
Read books by female authors (mystery-thrillers, perhaps?)
Empower Trans women
Support women-owned businesses
Grateful for Women in My Life Journey
Celebrating women is not just about famous names in history books; it's about honoring family and friends, colleagues, and classmates. The women in my family—my mom, grandmother, partner, sister, daughter, aunts, and cousins—have passed down their wisdom, love, and life lessons. The teachers in my life, from my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Coffee, who nurtured my love for reading, to Mrs. Lincoln in fifth grade, who sparked my passion for math, and college professors. In my career, I've been fortunate to work alongside brilliant women who have guided, challenged, and supported me. In friendship, I'm endlessly grateful for the women who have been my sounding boards, adventure partners, and shoulders to lean on. Life is a journey, and I wouldn't want to walk this path without them.
A thank you to the special women who were early readers and collaborators of my book, Do Not Die Today, a mystery-thriller set in Joshua Tree National Park.
To my mom, Margie, whose love and support, reading the rough draft, and talking about the characters with me to fill in the plot holes have been invaluable. To my brilliant daughter, Dr. Cass Carpenter, who inspires me as an emergency medicine doctor and helped me correct the errors in the life-saving scenes. To my dear friend Dawna, who details the details with care and compassion. To Kate, the artist who painted a beautiful work of art and designed the cover with some scary secrets. You all helped me bring it to life.
Beyond my closest circle, I am lucky to be surrounded by strong, talented, and passionate women—family, friends, colleagues, and changemakers. Whether they are breaking barriers, leading with courage, or simply making the world a better place one act of kindness at a time, you all deserve to be celebrated.
Take Action: Celebrate Women
So, I ask you: How will you celebrate and honor the women in your life today?
I invite you to take a moment to reflect and share your gratitude. Drop their names in the comments, write them a letter, or simply say thank you in your own way.
Send a message of gratitude. Support women-owned businesses. Mentor a young woman. Speak up when women’s voices are ignored. Because when we celebrate women, we don’t just honor the past—we build a stronger, more equitable future.
Life is a journey, made better by the remarkable women who walk it with us.
Gasp! A shout out! Sending love and honor back atcha Kacey!
