In Chaos, Read. In Crisis, Write. Take Action Now! πβοΈπ₯
In times of chaos and crisis, reading brings wisdom, writing sparks action, and activism fuels change.
Hello readers and writers, change-makers and defenders,
These are not ordinary times.
I read, write, and take action during this moment ofΒ chaosΒ andΒ crisis.
Please join me on a journey of reading, writing, and action. A gift for you, my readers, writers, change-makers, and defenders, is a free Smashwords E-Book Week for My Journey with Bernie and Do Not Die Today, March 2 - 8.1
We are in a time of chaos and crisis with change, and complexity; political upheaval, environmental destruction, and social inequality, and it feels overwhelming.
Chaos is noise. Itβs the relentless storm of uncertainty, misinformation, and disruption. In a chaotic blizzard, reading brings wisdom, perspective, and clarity. I read, not to escape, but to understand.
Crisis is fire. Itβs dangerous, disorienting, and destructive. Itβs urgent, immediate, and demands action. I write to process, to document truth, and to connect and inspire action. Words are my superpower to shape the future.
Chaos confuses; crisis clarifies. Chaos is the storm raging all around; crisis is the lightning strike that forces you to move.
I take action to honor the past, defend the present, and fight for the future, respecting those who fought for our liberties, standing up for those most impacted today, and securing a future for my grandchildren.

My Journey with Bernie π₯
In the summer of 2015, my life journey changed. Kathy told me to check out Bernie Sanders, and that one suggestion set me on an unforgettable path.
We attended Bernieβs campaign kickoff at a neighborβs house in Mountain View, joining over 100,000 people in 3,700 homes nationwide. Sitting on the floor, as close as possible to the TV, I listened as Bernie called us to join the political revolution.
By December, I wasnβt just listening to BernieβI could feel the Bern and joined the revolution. I carpooled to Reno with casinos and ski resorts, and too many people sleeping on the frozen streets. Over the Sierra Nevadas with another volunteer, we shared stories about why this fight mattered. At the rally, I set up, checked in attendees, and braved the cold with thousands waiting to see Bernie. Afterward, volunteers got a moment with him. Standing shoulder to shoulder, I made a promise: I would do everything I could to elect him as President.
My 2016 New Yearβs resolution? Go all in for Bernie. Before I knew it, my phone rang. When Stacey asked me to lead a team to Iowa for the caucus, I didnβt hesitate. Letβs go to Iowa. I joined The Revolution Starts with Us, and soon, I was leading Northern Californiaβs team and partnering with Jason from SoCal, we mobilized 300 volunteers from 30 states to flood the first caucus in Iowa.
Organizing calls, logistics, and last-minute changes became our daily routine. I booked a hotel in Iowa City, rented an 8-person van as our mobile βop center,β and hit the road. On the ground, we knocked on doors, talked to voters, and watched democracy unfold in packed gymnasiums and school halls.
My journey continued, traveling around California and other states, organizing, knocking on doors, and bringing the political revolution to communities everywhere. By April, The Bernie Journey grassroots program was official. I knocked on doors in Pennsylvania, talking to voters in Philly and deep-red towns. May and June were a blur of rallies, delegate races, and ballot counting in my hometown of Mountain View. Being elected a pledged Bernie Sanders delegate was humbling, it wasnβt just an honor, it was a responsibility.
From July 25-28, I traveled to Philadelphia as a Bernie delegate, streaming live updates from the convention floor. I cast my delegate vote for Bernie. Oregon delegates roared, βNo More Wars.β California delegates lit the hall with their phone lights and green glow-in-the-dark t-shirts.
It wasnβt just a campaign. It was a movement. And when the convention ended, I knew one thing. The revolution wasnβt over.

Defenders of National Parks π²
I was born in Colorado, with the Rocky Mountains as my backyard. Outdoor adventure wasnβt just my playtime, it was my life. From Estes Park to catching tadpoles in Cherry Creek, I discovered the magic and mysteries of the wild.
My love for nature became a lifelong mission. Working and volunteering with the Sierra Club, I stand with those who know that protecting our parks and forests isnβt just about conservation, itβs about justice. Public lands belong to all of us, but today, they are under attack. And once theyβre gone, we donβt get them back.
On a family trip to Joshua Tree, inspiration struck like lightning. The towering rock formations, the beauty of the desert, and its hidden dangers felt like a story waiting to be told. Do Not Die Today is my first book on my National Park Mystery Thriller journey. Itβs a mystery thriller set in Joshua Tree. Books two and three are set in Maine and Oregon, blending adventure, mysteries, and the urgent battle to defend our National Parks.
Climate destruction. Budget cuts. Corporate greed. Political attack. Our National Parks, forests, and public lands are being stripped of funding, protections, and resources. Once we lose them, we donβt get them back.
On Saturday, March 1, park lovers and activists across the country will rally for a National Park Day of Protest. I stand with the DEFENDERS, @RangerResistance, and all those who refuse to let greed and corruption destroy what belongs to us all.
